Columbus Ledger-Inquirer: Iron Bowl Game Emotions Run Deep
From Columbus Ledger-Inquirer:
AUBURN, Ala. — As a Florida native, cornerback Walt McFadden didn't have a proper sense of what the Iron Bowl means to someone from Alabama until he arrived at Auburn.
He quickly got the idea.
"I've been hearing about this game so much since I've been here," McFadden said. "Jerraud Powers, my roommate, he lives for this game. That's all he talks about, so it even got to the point that it made me living for this game. . . .
"Every day he's yelling about Alabama."
And what is he yelling?
"You don't really want to know," McFadden said, bursting out in laughter.
There is certainly no love lost between Auburn and Alabama, two sides of a state divide whose rivalry brings out the rawest emotions from the schools' fans, players and, yes, coaches.
