LSU Holds Off Troy With 4th Quarter Scoring Blitz
Baton Rouge, LA (Sports Network) - Charles Scott's four-yard touchdown run with 4:50 remaining in the game climaxed an incredible comeback, as 19th- ranked LSU avoided a monumental upset by scoring 30 fourth-quarter points to beat the Troy Trojans, 40-31, at Tiger Stadium.
Jarrett Lee threw for 216 yards on 20-of-34 passing with one touchdown and one interception as the Tigers (7-3) rallied from a 28-point deficit in the third quarter to complete the biggest comeback in school history.
Scott ran for 90 yards on 24 carries and Brandon LaFell caught 12 passes for 126 yards and a score.
The Trojans (6-4) led by as many as four touchdowns behind Levi Brown, who completed 34-of-72 attempts for 316 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. DuJuan Harris led Troy with 14 carries for 65 yards, and Jerrel Jernigan had 10 receptions for 63 yards.
