Mississippi States Holds On For 31-28 Victory.

Starkville, MS (Sports Network) - Arkansas kicker Alex Tejada missed a 46-yard field goal as time expired, and the Mississippi State Bulldogs escaped with a 31-28 win in SEC action at Davis Wade Stadium.
Bulldogs (4-7, 2-5 SEC) running back Anthony Dixon carried 23 times for 179 yards and scored three times (one rush, two rec) in the win. Tyson Lee completed 23-of-40 passes for 219 yards and two TDs.
Arkansas (4-7, 1-6) quarterback Nathan Dick completed 25-of-43 passes for 333 yards, three TDs and an interception. Lucas Miller caught 10 passes for 201 yards and a score.
The Razorbacks drove right down the field on their opening possession, with Michael Smith crossing the goal line on a 15-yard run.
They extended their lead midway through the quarter on an 87-yard touchdown pass from Dick to Miller.
But Mississippi State regrouped, and Lee found Dixon for a one-yard touchdown pass with 2:41 remaining in the first quarter.
The Bulldogs tied it up on a 10-yard touchdown run by Arnil Stallworth at the 13:06 mark of the second quarter.
Adam Carlson's 32-yard field goal put Mississippi State ahead, 17-14, with 5:59 remaining in the half.
The Bulldogs pushed their lead to 24-14 on a 63-yard touchdown run by Dixon with 3:43 remaining in the third quarter.
Arkansas finally responded with two seconds remaining in the third, as Dick hooked up with DJ Williams for a 22-yard touchdown pass and catch.
Mississippi State answered right back with a 70-yard drive on the ensuing possession, capped by Lee's nine-yard touchdown pass to Dixon.
Dick threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Ben Cleveland to make it a 31-28 game with 25 seconds to play. The Razorbacks recovered the on-side kick, and Dick completed passes of 21 and 10 yards to take the ball down to the Bulldogs 29 with four seconds to play. But Tejada pushed the kick to the right, and Mississippi State prevailed.
The Bulldogs' ground game accounted for 226 yards and 6.5 ypc for the game.
